Ingredients

  • 4 cups watermelon cubed and frozen
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup – optional, depending on sweetness
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • ¼ cup cold water adjust as needed for blending
  • Ice cubes optional, for thicker texture
  • Fresh mint optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the watermelon: Cut fresh watermelon into cubes and freeze for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best texture.
  • Add ingredients to blender: In a high-speed blender, combine frozen watermelon cubes, lime juice, honey (if using), and cold water.
  • Blend until smooth: Blend on high speed until slushie-like consistency forms. Add ice if needed to make it thicker.
  • Adjust consistency: Add a bit more water if too thick, or a few more frozen cubes if too runny.
  • Serve immediately: Pour into chilled glasses, garnish with fresh mint if desired, and enjoy right away for best texture.

Notes

  • Freeze watermelon in single layer: This prevents chunks from sticking together and ensures smoother blending.
  • Use seedless watermelon: Saves time and gives a better texture without any grittiness.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness: Some watermelons are naturally sweet; others need a drizzle of honey or maple syrup.
  • Serve immediately: Watermelon slushies melt fast, so serve right away for the perfect frosty treat.
