  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • cup honey BBQ sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey optional, for extra sweetness
  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas
  • Toppings: shredded lettuce red onion, diced tomatoes, avocado, shredded cheese, sour cream, lime wedges

Instructions

  • Prep the Beef: Season sliced beef with salt and pepper.
  • Sear the Beef: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear beef slices for 3–4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • Make Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add butter and garlic. Sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add BBQ & Honey: Stir in BBQ sauce and honey. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  • Combine: Return seared beef to the skillet. Toss in the sauce until well-coated and heated through.
  • Warm the Tortillas: While beef simmers, warm tortillas in a dry pan or microwave.
  • Assemble Tacos: Spoon the saucy beef into tortillas. Add your favorite toppings.
  • Serve: Finish with a squeeze of lime and enjoy immediately!

Notes

  1. Use Thin Beef Slices – Thin cuts cook faster and absorb more flavor from the sauce.
  2. Don’t Overcook the Beef – Sear just until browned to keep it juicy and tender.
  3. Customize the Sweetness – Add more or less honey based on your taste preference.
  4. Toast the Tortillas – A light toasting adds flavor and prevents sogginess.
