Creamy Lemon Chicken Recipe

As there are lemons everywhere in our houses, we can be a little fancy and make a Creamy Lemon Chicken recipe for dinner. The Lemen recipe I shared is so delicious! Here, learn how to make the Lemon chicken recipe.

Equipment

Ingredients

For Sauteing Chicken breast

  • 2 pieces Chicken Breast
  • Pepper pod powder (As per need)
  • Salt (As per need)
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 15 gm Butter

For Gravy/Sauce

  • ½ tbsp or 5 gm Garlic (finely chopped)
  • 1 cup Warm water
  • ½ of a cube or 10 gm Chicken stock cube/Bouillon
  • 1 cup Full-fat milk/Cream
  • 1 tsp Sugar (or as per your liking)
  • 1 tsp Pepper pod powder
  • 1 tsp Lemon zest (or zest of 1 lemon)
  • ½ tbsp Lemon juice

Finishing with

  • 7 or 8 pieces Lemon Slices (thinly sliced)
  • Parsley / Coriander leaves (finely chopped)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)
  • Black pepper powder (optional)

Instructions

For Sauteing Chicken breast

  • Rub some pepper pod powder and salt on both sides of the chicken breast.
  • Take 2 tbsp olive oil and 15 gm of butter in a frying pan.
  • Cook chicken breasts at low to medium heat. Each side for 2-5 minutes ( or as per your liking).

For Gravy/Sauce

  • Heat up the leftover oil from the chicken breasts and add ½ tbsp of chopped garlic to it. Fry till golden in color.
  • Pour 1 cup of warm water and add 10 gm chicken stock cube to it. Let the cube be melted.
  • Add 1 cup of heavy cream to the liquid.
  • Now add 1 tsp sugar and 1 tsp pepper pod powder. Give a good mix. Cook for 3-5 minutes or till the consistency becomes thick.
  • When the consistency will become thick, lower the heat and add 1 tsp lemon zest and 1½ tbsp lemon juice. Give a good mix.
  • Add Chicken breast pieces to the gravy and let it cook for a good 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat. Add lemon slices and sprinkle some chopped parsley leaf. You can also sprinkle some sesame seeds and crushed black pepper on top.

Notes

Ingredients:
  • No need to add extra salt in the gravy or do taste before adding more salt.
  • You can use 1 cup of freshly made Chicken Broth or stock instead of Water and Chicken Stock Cube.
Cooking Process for Sauteing Chicken breast:
  • Don't overcook the chicken or burn the outer skin.
Cooking Process for Gravy/Sauce:
  • After adding lemon juice don't increase the heat and don't cook for a long time. Otherwise, the gravy can turn bitter in taste.
  • Also, remove lemon slices from the gravy after a while to avoid bitterness.
